Why it costs what it does
Every track is rendered on its own, in full 4K: the title card, the effect layer, the scenery behind it and an encode measured against a lossless reference. That is ten to thirteen minutes of a graphics card per track, and about a gigabyte of finished file. A hundred-track library is over twenty hours of work before anything goes on air.
It pays for itself out of the broadcast. Without the card, the desk has to redraw every 4K frame while it streams. With the card already in the picture, it copies the file to YouTube and redraws nothing — measured on our own stream, the encoder went from 388% of a processor to 12%. That is the difference between a heavy desk and a light one, and it is why the card is bought once instead of rented monthly.

Questions people actually ask
Whose channel is it?
Yours. The broadcast goes to your own YouTube channel with your stream key, so the views, the watch time, the subscribers and any revenue are yours. We hold nothing but the key, encrypted.
Do I need to leave my computer on?
No. That is the whole point. It runs on our server, so your machine can be off, asleep or on the other side of the world.
How much music do I need?
At least twenty tracks — about an hour. Below that a channel loops too obviously to be worth leaving on, and that reflects on both of us.
Why only four places?
Because that is what the machine holds. Every desk is real traffic and real disk on the same box that carries the radio, and we would rather say four and mean it than sell a fifth and slow everyone down.
What happens if my stream key stops working?
The desk stops and tells you which thing is wrong, rather than looping silently and holding a place. Paste the new key and start it again.
